Understanding the Digital SAT Format

Since March 2024, the SAT is fully digital and adaptive. This means the test adjusts its difficulty based on your performance in the first module. If you do well in Module 1, you get a harder Module 2 — but the harder module gives access to higher scores. The test consists of:

Diagnostic Test First

Before you begin studying, take a full-length official practice test under timed conditions. Download the Bluebook app (College Board's official Digital SAT platform) — it has free official practice tests. Your score on this diagnostic tells you exactly how far you are from 1400 and which sections need the most work.

Your 16-Week Study Plan

Weeks 1–4: Foundation Building

Focus on understanding the question types in both sections. Use Khan Academy SAT (linked to College Board — it is free and personalised). Do not time yourself yet — focus on accuracy and understanding why you got questions wrong.

Weeks 5–8: Skill Building

For Math: work through algebra, advanced math (functions, quadratics), problem-solving and data analysis, and geometry systematically. For Reading and Writing: practise the four skill domains — craft and structure, information and ideas, standard English conventions, and expression of ideas.

Math Target: To score 700+ in Math (needed for a 1400 overall), you need to answer approximately 40 out of 44 Math questions correctly. This means near-perfection — which is why targeted practice on your specific weak areas is critical.

Weeks 9–12: Timed Practice

Begin doing full timed sections. Track your accuracy by question type. Keep an error log — write down every question you got wrong, why you got it wrong, and the correct reasoning. Review your error log weekly.

Weeks 13–15: Full Practice Tests

Take one full practice test per week under real conditions: 8am, no phone, strict timing. Analyse every wrong answer. At this stage, your score should be improving. If you plateau, focus extra time on your weakest question types.

Week 16: Final Preparation

Do light review of formulas and grammar rules. Do not attempt new material. Get adequate sleep for three nights before the exam. Eat a proper meal on test day.
